PoPs & Couper!

I know it has been over a month since my last blog post. It has been crazy busy but, I think we are finally settling in. Couper still asks when we are going back to our house or when are we going to see Pops and Moms or Boss and Shug. I reassure him they are going to come see us soon. Couper has asked me to see Pops, all day long!

Couper had a blast with my dad (Pops) while we where in Montana here are a few pictures of them form our trip. I will share more pictures with you guys a little at a time. I don’t think you want to look at all 780 pictures at one time.:)

From the Kitchen of CadillacMaMa

One of my good friends and fabulous cooks, Christina had us over for a great meal a few weeks ago. The boys had a wonderful time playing together! She made us Poppyseed Chicken, Tomatoes & Okra, Carrots, Rice, Rolls and Caramel & Bananas. Needless to say we were stuffed. I asked her for the Poppyseed Chicken recipe and she e-mailed it to me. So, now I am going to share it with you guys.

Try something new and if you haven’t had a guest at your table in a while invite someone over!

Poppyseed Chicken

Yields: 12 servings
Prep time: 20 minutes
Bake time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

12 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless, boiled and coarsely chopped
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 1/2 pints sour cream
1/4 cup sherry
salt and pepper
35-40 round butter crackers, crumbled
2 Tablespoons poppy seeds
6 Tablespoons melted butter

In a large baking dish, put a layer of coarsely chopped chicken.  Mix soup, sour cream, and sherry.  Season with salt and pepper to taste.  Pour over chicken.  Top with cracker crumbs mixed with poppy seeds.  Pour melted butter over crumbs.  Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Serve with white rice.

Stain Remover

My mom, Heidi turned me on to two of the best stain removers there are. The first was Jesus Christ and His wonderful love and grace! I was about twelve years old and we started attending First Baptist Church Wollforth because our neighbor, Marie invited us (I am sure grateful that she didn’t keep Jesus a secret).

I will never forget that Sunday morning when Pastor Harold gave the invitation to ask Jesus into our hearts. I started to feel something funny inside me something holding me back! I looked over to mom and she was crying. I told her that I need to go up front and she said she did too. That day we both accepted Jesus into our hearts and soon after we were baptized together. Mom has been the most influential Christian woman in my life.

Wow, what if my mother had said no to our neighbor? Where would I be?

Now, the second stain remover she showed me was a product called M30 (you can find it at the Dollar Store). There hasn’t been much it won’t get out. I have used it on everything from ink, blood, grease, food stain and all kinds of kid goo! Here is how I use it:

  • Wet the article of clothing and rub M30 on the spot

  • Let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes

  • Wash as you regularly would!

Below is a before and after picture (goo on the bottom of a bag from walking around Sea World…nasty!)

The second stain remover may remove the goo from our clothes but the first removes the goo from our lives! Do you know Him today?

8 Years and Still Romantic!

It all started with these words “do you want to be my girl or something”. This week Zak and I celebrated our 8 year Wedding Anniversary! I woke to cinnamon rolls and 8 beautiful cream/pink tipped roses (my favorite). Later that day I received a 9th rose for the year to come.  That night we went out to dinner and then Zak surprised me with Mamma Mia tickets. WOW, what a good man!!! He sat there and didn’t even complain once (I saw his twitter). I enjoyed every minute (even the shiny spandex at the end).

Zak has always been romantic from the beginning. He has showered me with love songs in the halls of our High School, notes on my car, flowers, gifts, surprise dates and most importantly all of his love from the day he asked me to be “His Girl”. Thank you Babe for another FABULOUS year!

I hope you guys enjoy theses pictures from the last 8 years. Wow, look at how young Zak looks and how many hair styles can one girl have?
